Nurture Collective (NC) is pleased seeking an occupational therapist to help ensure that families have the tools, support, education, and training they need so their young children (0-5) can reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and self-reflective provider with an understanding of child development, parental-infant mental health, and a passion for working on improving the health and well-being of young children and their caregivers. We are looking for an organized, proactive, and efficient candidate who is excited to venture into this innovative practice.
Job Duties Include:
- Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective’s core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position
- Follow through on assigned referrals by providing intake, assessment/evaluation and recommendations, and occupational therapy treatment to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, cognition, speech/language, self-help and adaptive
- Maintain assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitates child/family driven goals
- Uses parent coaching model in their treatment sessions
- Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate and timely
- Prepare occupational therapy assessment reports and maintain regular plans of care (treatment plans)
- Provide parent/caregiver education, coaching, consultation, training and outreach to community members, childcare settings and other service agency personnel in the area of child development and occupational therapy
- Support families through the transition process before their child ages out of receiving Nurture Collective services
- Provide occupational-based groups to clients as needed
- Participate as an advocate for families and as a representative of Nurture Collective at meetings and events throughout the community, state and beyond as requested
- All other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
- A limited permit/temporary license issued by the California Board for Occupational Therapy (CBOT) to practice occupational therapy under direct supervision before NBCOT certification and CBOT
- As soon as possible, a current and valid license issued by the California Board for Occupational Therapy (CBOT) to practice occupational therapy. Special Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Bilingual (E/S) preferred but not
- Knowledge of IFSP process as outlined by the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Ability to provide OT treatment and evaluation to children 0-5 years
Special Requirements
- Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed)
- Valid California Driver’s License. State required automobile insurance

- Must be willing to travel as necessary to provide services in-home to families in the Los Angeles area
- Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships within the agency and with clients
- Must be able to work in a consultative model/transdisciplinary model of intervention and a family- centered service delivery model
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of testing equipment, toys and supplies
- Must be able to sit on the floor and move quickly after infants and toddlers

We are seeking to hire a full-time speech therapist assistant to provide speech therapy to ensure families have the tools, support, education, and training they need to support the development of young children (0-5).
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective provider with an understanding of child development, parental-infant mental health, and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers. The candidate must be organized, creative, a good collaborator, and thinks outside the box who can help envision the organization’s growth and help us achieve our vision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective’s core values and mission in performing all aspects of this position.
- Manages a caseload of 32-35 scheduled speech therapy treatment sessions per week.
- Provides coaching, consultation, training, and outreach to community members, childcare settings, and other service agency personnel in the area of child development and speech therapy.
- Coach parents to learn and follow through with interventions.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Support families through the transition process before their child ages out of receiving Nurture Collective service.
- Provide Speech-based groups to clients as needed.
- Participate as an advocate for families and as a representative of Nurture Collective at meetings and events throughout the community, state, and beyond as requested.
- Reports to the Speech Therapy Program Manager and Speech Therapist
Must be organized, have proficient computer skills (including Google Workspace) and excellent written and verbal communication skills; detailed-oriented, organized, and manages time well

Basic Qualifications:
- SLPA license or the ability to receive California licensure
- At least 1 year of pediatric experience
- Ability to drive and maintain California license and insurance on personal vehicle for work
CPR/First Aid certification - Ability to pass the pre-hire background check required
- Experience working with Part C/Early Intervention services is preferred
- Bilingual therapist (Spanish) speaking is preferred
